Made from premium stainless AEB-L razor blade steel, known for edge retention and ease of sharpening.
Designed with a long sweeping blade for ease of cuts through scale and bone. The blade also has a long distal taper providing progressive flex towards the tip for getting those pesky ribs and clean filets.
This means that it is also more rigid near the handle. This makes for a versatile knife that can be used on larger fish and smaller fish too (but we won't tell.)
The handle has been designed for max retention with pinky and index finger swells that assist with slippery slimy hands.
The LWF's handle is available in a variety of materials and colours. Using G10 fibreglass handles makes for a heavier handle that feels amazing in the hand. 6 pins because we love these details.
Every LWF comes with a thermo-molded kydex sheath made to match the handle selection.

Heat treatment of AEB-L requires special equipment and is done in-house at the RDF shop. The steel is heated in an oxygen-free environment at 1925'F and rapidly cooled. This is followed by a cryo treatment to achieve maximum hardness. Two 2 hour tempering cycles are the final step to achieve toughness.
